GETTING NEEDED EDUCATION
AND RESOURCES TO THE PUBLIC

TAKIN' IT ON THE ROAD

Our teens are also involved in getting resources and educational materials into the community
at large with the hope of helping to reduce the overpopulation problem.  To that end they
let people know how to get discount training
and other services like low cost spay/neuter program. They give demonstrations of clicker training at adoption events as well as performances. This summer our teens will be
performing with their trained foster dogs and sending this message:

NO MORE VIOLENCE FOR
KIDS AND DOGS

They will also go to schools with this
message and handouts.

THE UTAH COUNTY PET RESOURCE GUIDE

Last summer Save a Dog & Kids Inc. was invited to 22 City Festivals, Parades and Rodeos.
With the help of a small printing company that generously donated the printing, we were able
to distribute 5,000 4-page Utah County Pet Resource Guides at these events. The Guides contained coupons for discounted spay/neuter, discounted dog training, educational information
on dog training, State Pet Sterilization Legislation and other helpful data.

According to Spay USA Network News, over the last five years many communities around the
country have successfully reduced animal control costs amounting to millions of saved dollars
with low-cost spay/neuter programs aimed at low income households.  The mayor of our own
city of 86,000 people has offered to have educational and discount vouchers printed on utility
bills for each household. He has also invited us to go with him to classrooms to talk to the
students about the responsible dog ownership. He was surprised to find that all the students
raised their hands when asked if their families let their dogs run loose in the streets, many not neutered.
